The new Penn Fathom Lever Drag Reel are stunning, both cosmetically and practically. The dura-drag system from Penn features a phenolic bonding agent that prevents breakdown of carbon fiber and each drag washer is pretreated with a special compound developed exclusively by Penn. What does this mean for the angler? It means a stunningly smooth lever drag system, on a reel with a powerful 5.3:1 retrieve, a full 36″ of line back on the reel per turn of the handle on the larger models. A great reel for everything from drift fishing for pollack and wrasse, right up to taming blue sharks on stand up gear.
